Holiday weekend STL plan, after the downtown fireworks question is settled: make the weekend a mix of one big civic thing, one cool indoor stop, and one show. Saturday, Celebrate 250 keeps the Arch grounds busy with gates at 2 p.m., the America's Birthday Parade downtown, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Loggins, Stephen Marley and Rebirth Brass Band, then drones at 9:40 p.m. and fireworks after. If you want a quieter daytime pairing, Saint Louis Art Museum has its free Independence in View drop-in tour Saturday at 1 p.m., and the museum is a good Forest Park cool-down before heading back toward the riverfront. For the late-night crowd, Pop's After Hours: Red, White, Boots & Bass starts Saturday at 11 p.m. in Sauget. Sunday flips to the big amphitheater lane with Muse - The Wow! Signal Tour at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater at 7 p.m. Start with the St. Louis events board if you are picking by crowd size: Arch-scale, museum-quiet, after-hours dance floor, or amphitheater rock.
