STLTalks Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what STLTalks collects, how it is used, and the choices users have. It covers the STLTalks website, Android app, feed, profiles, photos, Circles, business pages, events, messages, moderation, and dating features.

1. Information You Provide

• Account details such as name, email, password hash, recovery information, and notification preferences.
• Profile details, avatar, cover photo, public fields, visibility settings, posts, comments, likes, photos, albums, Circle activity, reviews, and business updates.
• Business page claims, page information, photos, reviews, and owner/admin actions.
• Dating profile details such as display name, birthdate or age-related fields, gender, sexual orientation, preferred matches, location, distance preferences, headline, bio, interests, photos, likes, skips, reports, blocks, matches, and dating messages.
• Messages, attachments, reports, support requests, and moderation information you submit.

2. Information Collected Automatically

• IP address, device/browser information, app version, login time, last activity time, and security/session records.
• Cookies or similar storage used for login sessions, security, preferences, and basic site operation.
• Approximate or precise location only when you choose to use location-assisted features, such as nearby business sorting or dating distance settings.

3. How We Use Information

• Operate accounts, profiles, feed posts, photos, Circles, messages, dating, business pages, reviews, events, and app updates.
• Personalize visibility, matching, notifications, and location-assisted features.
• Protect users, investigate abuse, moderate content, enforce rules, prevent spam, and secure the platform.
• Respond to user requests, legal requests, safety issues, and account deletion requests.
• Maintain backups, logs, diagnostics, reliability, and operational records.

4. Sharing

Public profile fields, public posts, reviews, Circles, business pages, photos, events, and page updates may be visible to other users or visitors depending on the feature and your settings. Private messages are shown to participants, but may be reviewed where needed for safety, security, legal compliance, or abuse investigation.

We may share information with service providers that help run hosting, email, storage, security, app distribution, analytics if enabled, backups, and support. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

5. Dating Privacy

Dating profile information can be more sensitive than normal profile data. Only add information and photos you are comfortable using for dating discovery. Dating reports, blocks, matches, and messages may be retained as needed for safety, dispute handling, and moderation.

See the Cookie Notice for cookie and local storage details. Browser controls may let you block some cookies, but login and security features may not work without required cookies.

7. Data Retention

We keep information as long as needed to operate STLTalks, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, preserve moderation records, resolve disputes, and maintain backups. Deleted content may remain for a limited time in backups or logs before normal deletion cycles remove it.

8. Your Choices

• Update profile fields and visibility settings in Profile Settings.
• Delete your own posts and certain uploaded content where the feature allows it.
• Turn off dating profile visibility or delete your account.
• Control email notification preferences.
• Request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help through the Data Deletion and Privacy Requests page.

9. Children

STLTalks is not intended for children under 13. Dating features are not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage user is using restricted features, we may remove the account or restrict access.

10. Security

We use operational safeguards such as authentication, HTTPS, access controls, backups, monitoring, and moderation tooling. No online system is perfectly secure, so users should avoid posting highly sensitive information.

11. Regional Rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights to access, delete, correct, export, object to, or restrict certain processing of your personal information. We will respond to valid requests as required by applicable law.

12. Contact

Privacy requests can be submitted through the account deletion/privacy request process or other STLTalks contact channels. A dedicated privacy contact address should be added before broad public launch.
